FTL MODA Announces Blockbuster Schedule

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Tickets for FTL MODA, an incredible celebration of international fashion, music and art Jan. 25-28, 2007, are on sale at www.ftlmoda.com. The website also carries a detailed schedule of phenomenal events and information on designers and artists.

FTL MODA will bring 16 designers from around the world to Fort Lauderdale for two days of world-class fashion. Additionally, the event will introduce South Florida to several renowned artists and musical groups from Italy, the featured country for 2007. Events will be congregated in four locations throughout the greater Fort Lauderdale area: Nikki Marina at Westin Diplomat, Broward Center for the Performing Arts, China White nightclub and Victoria Park Shoppes.

Festivities will begin 8 p.m. Jan. 25 with an opening ceremony at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 SW 5th Ave., featuring designs from the fashion house of Enrico Coveri. Tickets for the opening are $135. The Broward Center’s Amaturo Theater will provide the backdrop for a concert by world-class orchestral group I Solisti Veneti noon, Jan. 28. Tickets start at $30 for the performance.

Naugle, Coveri, Buldrini, Ricordi Kick Off Jan. 25

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – FTL MODA, a celebration of international fashion, music and art, will field an opening line-up Jan. 25 to rival any Super Bowl hopeful. Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jim Naugle will kick off FTL MODA 8 p.m. at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 SW 5th Ave. Guests will enjoy an exquisite evening of fashion, art, music, food and wine with a unique opportunity to meet and mingle with featured fashion designers.

The Fashion House of Enrico Coveri, lead by Francesco Martini Coveri, will present the American debut of its newest collection inspired by the paintings of Romero Britto and Adriano Buldrini at the magnificent, Italian-themed Opening Ceremony which will officially launch the four-day fashion and cultural event. Art will come alive on the catwalk with his colorful interpretations.

FTL MODA to debut Italian Musical Sensation “Studio 3” Jan. 26

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – FTL MODA, a celebration of international fashion, music and art, will present the American debut of top Italian boy band, Studio 3, Jan. 26. The group will perform 8 p.m. at China White nightclub, 109 SW 2nd Ave.

Studio 3 is made up of Marco, Gabriel and Vetro – all young, cute and extremely talented. Last summer "Potrei" (Power) their second album, hit the charts in the top position and won the Disco d'Oro (Gold Disc), a classification that is well respected in the International music industry.

Their first album, "Forse un Angelo" (Maybe an Angel), is currently listed on the Top European Charts. It contains a popular single by the same name. Studio 3’s first single was “Solo Te” (Only You) which reached immediate success and captivated audiences throughout Europe. It held a position in the Nielson Top 10 for its first six weeks.

FTL MODA to Debut Roots-Rock Phenoms “The Mandolin Brothers Band” Jan. 27

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – FTL MODA, a celebration of international fashion, music and art, will present the American debut of Italian roots-rock band Mandolin Brothers Jan. 27. The group will perform 8 p.m. at China White nightclub, 109 SW 2nd Ave.

Pioneers of “Made in Italy” blues music, The Mandolin Brothers Band’s acoustic sound calls to mind the style of solo legend Bob Dylan, bands like Los Lobos and the Blasters and the soul of New Orleans.

In 2001 the band published its first CD, “For Real” (Fortuna Records), which contains almost exclusively original material and has received excellent reviews in Italian music magazines “Musica” and “Jam,” on websites such as www.rootshighway.it and www.blackdiamondbay.it and on radio stations. A second CD will be released this year.

The band first recorded three songs for the “Dixie in Rock” compilation (1985), which also included names like Tolo Marton and Baker Street Band and later appeared in compilations “Pavia Rock” (1990) and the “Blues House Sound” (1996). They self-produced “Roots and Roll Tape” In 1994.

The Mandolin Brothers Band currently includes Jimmy Ragazzon (lead vocals, harmonica, acoustic guitar), Paola Canevari (guitars), Bruno de Faveri (guitars, mandolin, vocals), Riccardo Maccabruni (accordion, keyboards, vocals), Joe Barreca (electric bass) and Daniele Negro (drums and percussions).
